Exercises To Increase Your Stamina

Stamina refers to your body’s endurance to physically stressful activities. As such, you need to hone your stamina so you could last longer in doing your day-to-day activities such as exercise. There may be times when you will feel that you are being dragged into doing the usual routines after several minutes of exercise. You may also feel that you are gasping for air after a couple of push-ups. These may be symptoms that your endurance is going down. To boost it, you can try to do stamina-building exercises so that you will last throughout the day and still feel energized.

Swimming. This is a stamina-builder that you can do if you have an access to an Olympic-size pool. You can also do this if you have your own swimming pool. However you like it done, this exercise will help you enhance your breathing. You will have to breathe at the perfect timing when you are swimming so that you can complete a lap. Swimming does not put pressure on your joints so you would still have stronger knees while enhancing your endurance.

Bicycling. You can do this exercise using a stationary bike or a real fitness bike, whatever is easier for you to secure. This exercise will help you train your body to be efficient even when it is under stress. It will also increase your heart’s pumping and you leg muscles will be enhanced. However, don’t push yourself too hard by focusing on intensity. What you should develop first is your mileage. After you can take long hauls, you can proceed to improving your intensity.

Step Climbing. The most accessible exercise that you can do is step climbing. You do not have to use any special equipment in order for you to execute this stamina-building routine. You can even do this at work, at home, or at school – or anywhere that has stairs. Before you proceed to walking up a stairs as part of your exercise, you should first establish a baseline data about how far you could go without gasping for air. After every week, you should recheck and compare the number of stairs that you can climb comfortably.

With an increased stamina, you will be able to do your usual activities more efficiently. Don’t forget that stamina training should not be rushed and should be done vigorously. If you are not willing to spend a couple of months or so to train your endurance then you might not be able to strengthen or build up your body also because you will easily get tired when you exercise.
