Exercising For Beginners
If you’re not very experienced where exercising is concerned you may be a little worried by the prospect. If you body isn’t in very good shape you’ll probably prefer to avoid having to do your exercising in front of strangers.
That’s why home fitness equipment is so popular at the moment. Choose wisely and you’ll have a piece of a equipment that you’ll use regularly and won’t get bored of.
If you’re worried about the tedium of exercising then don’t go for something like a treadmill or exercise bike as they only really do the one thing. If you’re getting on you want to protect your joints as much as possible so you need to opt for a low impact exercise machine.
The best all rounder is an elliptical cross trainer. With a cross trainer you’re not just stuck with the one type of exercise. Because your feet are always on the footpad the exercises won’t impact your joints. If lack of space in your home is an issue then you get buy models that will fold up and can put in a cupboard.
Once you’ve chosen your machine you need to remember a few things to ensure you exercise safely. You want to exercise in comfortable but not baggy clothing to prevent clothes getting trapped or caught. Always work at your own pace not at someone else’s.
Another thing to remember is to drink after or even during you excising so that you replace any body fluids lost through sweating. If you’ve got one of those fridge freezers with a water dispenser on the front you’ll be able to drink purified cold water after you’ve exercised. But don’t forget that it will only be pure if you remember to change the fridge water filter on a regular basis. Every six months is about right.
Start slow and don’t overdo it at first. Little and often is better than a big session once in awhile. Just put on some music and have a few minutes of me time while you exercise. Once you get into a pleasant routine it won’t become a chore.
