Help Prevent Breast Cancer Using a Common Daily Supplement

Every woman is concerned with her ability to prevent breast cancer. Breast cancer kills thousands of women each year. Millions of dollars in research go to trying to find new ways to treat and cure this problem. But the best and easiest way to stay safe is to just take every step possible to preventing breast cancer in the first place.

The Journal of the National Cancer Institute published a study in the early 1990′s linking the prevention of breast cancer with omega 3 fatty acids. While the results are still not conclusive, many additional studies since then also have indicated that there may be a connection. Omega 3 fatty acids are naturally found in fish oil and flax oil. They help the health of your heart and are wonderful anti-inflammatory compounds. Its anti-inflammatory nature might be what can help prevent breast cancer.

Generally, the omega 3s in your diet come from either fish or flax seeds. Since most people consume minimal amounts of these foods, most people have a moderate omega 3 deficiency. This can really be harmful to some parts of your health. It can contribute to depression and cardiovascular problems. It can also seriously interfere with your immune system and this can make you more sensitive to auto-immune diseases, some types of diabetes and some types of migraines.

The auto-immune issue is where researchers are tend to believe that omega 3s can also contribute to breast cancer prevention. An anti-inflammatory agent could really help to calm down those cells that have gone “haywire”. When cells calm down they won’t get the chance to start dividing uncontrollably and you can steer clear of cancer.

More people that not end up taking a daily omega 3 supplement for their health, in general, because they want to do everything they can to prevent cancer. At the least they are really contributing to many facets of their health like heart health and memory functions. The jury is still out on whether or not omega 3 supplements will really help to prevent breast cancer, but its way better to be prepared.
