How Exercise Helps Fight Aging

Aging is something that we are all trying to avoid or at least ease into gracefully. As we get older, everything about us changes. Our bodies grow weak, our muscles sag, our looks diminish which is why there are a lot of people who are afraid of aging. Other exercises made for improving flexibility and balance like yoga and aerobics are also important for you to do. You don’t have to workout rigorously every single day. You can exercise for 30 minutes to an hour a day to get a good burn. Consider running around the block, walking to work or to go to a mall, or do some easy weight lifting at home while watching TV.

A research proves that people who have a regular workout have longer telomere than those who don’t. Telomere is a part of our DNA that prevents it from deteriorating. The DNA samples of the subjects asked to do cardio exercises appeared younger than those subjects who did not workout. If your DNA degenerates slower, the aging process slows down too. This is how working out can slow down the aging process. Just remember that part of a healthy lifestyle is not just working out but also eating right. A proper and balanced meal everyday can help you with staying young.

Aging and exercise seem to go hand in hand for the very simple reason that if one is not active, then the other would take over. Though aging can’t be stopped, it can surely be prevented.
