How To Choose Which Gymball To Buy
AOK commenced its Gymball
development and testing programme in 1996. Since then world leading testing protocols have been developed for inflatable PVC products. As a result of this work the MaxBall and DuraBall were introduced.
These products have been tested to ensure product consistency and have variously supported static loads well in excess of 4000kg with burst resistance to a load of 500kg.
This does not mean that the Gymball
is ‘puncture proof’ but it does give protection from explosive deflation. Burst resistance means AOK Gymballs are designed to take a minimum of thirty seconds to collapse if accidently punctured.
Each Gymball
made is pre-inflated and tested to endure exceptionally low numbers of faulty balls. Over the past 5 years AOK have had a return proportion of fewer than 0.2%
A gymball with burst resistance to over 500kg may possibly seem unnecessary, however when sitting on a gymball, the impact of your weight is a great deal greater than your body weight. This is identified as impact loading. This can easily be two and a half times your body weight, so for an 80kg individual using a pair of 10kg dumbbells the impact load could easily exceed 250kg.

AOK Gymball test
A 2 inch cut was made into the gymball with a sharp knife, simulating an object puncturing a gymball on the gym floor.
A 75kg person remained sitting on the gymball, forcing the air to travel out of it. After around 30 seconds, there was still a sufficient amount air in the gymball to support the user, giving them sufficient time to securely get off the gymball without incurring injury.
Dura Ball Pro
The Dura Ball Pro has a 500kg burst resistance and will slowly deflate when punctured giving the user time in order to get off, to a great extent reducing the risk of injury.
The Gymball resists deformation under heavy load which means that prioceptive/sensory pathways are stimulated during the total range of movement. It is even resistant to wear & stretching.
Max Ball
The Max Ball has a 750kg burst resistance and will slowly deflate when punctured giving the user time to get off, to a great extent reducing the possibility of injury.
Independently tested at the University of Newcastle, Australia this ball is purposely designed for heavy free-weight exercise in a commercial environment. Its dimpled non-surface prevents the ball from slipping whilst using heavy weights.
9 Gymball Rack
Gymballs tend to have a mind of their own – luckily we have developed a product to rectify this problem.
In order to stop them straying too far, our effective storage system is designed to keep balls safe. It fits every sizes of balls from 45-75cm, and holds up to nine balls within one space-efficient unit.
