Kickboxing Tips- Getting Ready For Your First Muay Thai Fight

Instructors of MMA in MD classes get a lot of students claiming they want to fight one day. It’s your fight amateur Muay Thai fight and you aren’t completely certain on how to prepare for it. Before you even begin the process of wanting to fight be positive that you can dedicate yourself 100% to the training. Being mentally prepared to train for fight is difficult. You don’t realize how much goes into it until you are in it. You’ve probably heard horror stories about other people’s brutal training routine, but you think you’ll be able to handle it until you actually try and realize it is tougher than it looks. Depending on the date of your first fight will determine how long the training camp will be for this fight. Even though it is at the amateur level you have to treat it as if it is a professional level fight. The records may not count, but you’ll get the experience necessary to do well at the professional stage.

If you are in a 6-week training camp before your fight you’ll have to make serious sacrifices. The first sacrifice you’ll have to make will be toward you family and friends. It’s not like they will be gone forever but you have to not surround yourself with people who can stop you from reaching your goal. You’ll have to sacrifice a vast majority of what you eat because you are not eating for the way something tastes you are eating to fuel your body. Once you are mentally prepared in the beginning you can begin the physical part of your Muay Thai training camp. The physically should be easier if you remain mentally strong and focused. You’ll have to pump yourself up to finish the high level strength and conditioning portion of training camp. You will be drilling a wide array of punching and kicking combinations.  Once your training camp is complete you’ll feel stronger and be ready to go hard against your opponent. The best fighters that get MMA training in MD are the best because of how they prepared to fight.
