<p> When starting any new regime, it is always best to start slow and work your way up. Nothing will be gained by over doing it and injuring yourself. Working out 2 to 4 days per week to begin with is good. Power the weight on the upside and go down slowly. Keep the number of reps low (4-12). <p> Several minutes rest between sets is essential. It is best to focus on one or two muscle groups each time you work out. Work muscle groups that work together, i.e., triceps and chest, biceps and back to be most effective. To lose fat while you are building muscle mass, you will have to add cardio to your workouts. Limit your cardio workouts to once a week if your main focus is to build muscle mass.</p>
<p> Rest is crucial to building muscle. To develop your muscles, you need six to eight hours of sleep every day. In addition to proper sleep, resting between workout sessions is best. As soon as you start to see results, don&#8217;t make the mistake of over doing it. More is not always better. Stick with the basics. That is what got you the results to begin with.</p>
<p> A proper diet is also needed when building muscle. To add size you also need to eat a lot of food, but it has to be good food that supports building muscle. Animal and vegetable protein should make up 25% of your diet. Good fat and fiber is essential. Limit your intake of sugar, starch, alcohol and coffee. If you have a hard time getting enough protein, take supplements like protein shakes. Eat small meals thoughout the day, every two or three hours.</p>
<p> A journal to record your progress will be very helpful. Keep track of what you eat and also the amount of weight you are lifting with the number of reps. The number of reps you have built up to can be easy to forget. Either increase the weight or the number of reps. Slowly and gradually.</p>
<p> Keep it slow and steady, and give yourself a pat on the back.</p>

<p>Now there is a chance that this could happen, but that is the exception to the rule and not the rule.</p>
<p>I want you to consider some factors when choosing a program on <a target="_blank" href="http://www.joeyvaillancourtfitness.com/">how to build muscle</a> based on some questions you can ask yourself. This will help you choose the right program for you, your lifestyle, your goals and experience level.</p>
<p>Make sure to go through these tips before choosing any program out there today.</p>
<p><strong>Do You Want To Gain Muscle or Burn Fat?</strong></p>
<p>First, ask yourself this question. If you want to build muscle, do not purchase a fat loss program and same thing when buying a muscle building plan. Most programs are very direct about what the product accomplishes. Be honest, look in the mirror and assess how you would look better in your body. Less fat and more defined? Or maybe you need more mass. Decide before buying.</p>
<p><strong>How Many Hours A Week Do You Have To Train?</strong></p>
<p>Don’t just buy a program because it is the latest thing and you are excited about it. What if it requires you to train 7 days a week but you only have 3 days a week available? Take the time to research a program and see if it fits your schedule or not. Find something that does so you don’t have to make any modifications to the program.</p>
<p><strong>What is Your Experience Level?</strong></p>
<p>If you are a beginner, you would not want to start off with an advanced program. An advanced program is not necessarily the better program just because it’s called advanced. Each workout is relative to the client; therefore a beginner workout works best for beginners, intermediate works for intermediate and advanced works best when used by an advanced trainer. If a beginner starts off on an advanced plan, they could over train very quickly and see fewer results than if they had began with a beginner program. The same applies to advanced trainers using a beginner plan. There would not be enough stimuli. Your job is to find out who the program is intended for and base that on the current level you are at.</p>
<p><strong>Do You Have Access To Equipment and Facilities?</strong></p>
<p>Make sure you have access to the program equipment requirements. Don’t purchase a bodyweight workout plan if you like training at the gym and don’t buy a gym workout and expect to do it in your home using only minimal equipment.</p>
<p><strong>Do You Have A Starting Point?</strong></p>

<p>There are many ways for people to build muscle mass quick but how do you choose which way is the best for you? After all, there are so many workout programs, nutrition plans, opinions and information to filter through. And, how do you know if any information you read is relatable to your body type?</p>
<p>Well the truth is, it does become very hard and can even become frustrating unless you adapt a better perspective of what you are trying to accomplish. By that I mean, accept that a body transformation is really a great experience and a journey that you should enjoy. Be patient, learn and adapt a better overall lifestyle with fitness.</p>
<p>Don’t try to look for the one-stop answer all solution but instead look for clues from successful programs you may have tried or something that has worked for you in the past.</p>
<p>Here are some of my favorite principles to follow when trying to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.joeyvaillancourtfitness.com/">build muscle mass quick</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Learn To Measure Bio-Feedback</strong></p>
<p>What is bio feedback you might be asking? Well simply put, bio feedback is the act of tracking your body’s response to certain training manipulations and diet alterations and recording the result.</p>
<p>You see, the reason that there are so many workout programs out there today is because everyone is different and responds so to different programs. Now this is a good thing because that means that no matter what condition you are currently in and what goal you want to accomplish I can guarantee there is a program out there to match it.</p>
<p>The problem lies in the fact that even if it seems the program is meant for you, you still should learn to measure bio feedback from your body while on that program.</p>
<p>The reason for doing this is because we want to start measuring our results we get from a program and later compare those results to another program. Experimentation is fine when it is done in a constructive manner. This doesn’t imply to control programs every day or week, but rather just try a program, measure the results you got and then repeat with a new program and document the consequences.</p>
<p>Some of the things you should track are;</p>
<p>- How you felt on the program (energy levels, time constraints etc)</p>
<p>- Your results (losing muscle? Buidling muscle? Gain muscle but gaining fat?)</p>
<p>- Anything else you might feel is related.</p>
<p><strong>Mastering the Art of Phase Manipulation</strong></p>
<p>Now, the key to also learning to measure bio feedback is to also learn the art of phase manipulation.</p>
<p>Just like the seasons change, so should your training phases (not necessarily in the same sequence). Remember I mentioned changing programs every so often and measuring the results again? Well this is what I was referring to…phase changes.</p>
<p>Your basic phases when trying to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.joeyvaillancourtfitness.com/">build muscle mass quick</a> is a muscle building phase (hard bulking or progressive bulking), maintenance (no real change, just maintaining), strength phase and a fat loss phase.</p>
<p>Those 4 are the most general phases and we will not go past those in today’s article.</p>
<p>But, if you can structure your training to include all these phases within your program, then you will see far faster results than if you were to just stay on one program forever. The program can start losing its effectiveness within about 6-8 weeks depending on your training time period (how long you have been training for).</p>
<p>Normally, I recommend the following:</p>
<p>- Muscle building: 12 weeks staggering 1 or 2 different periodizations within that period (different rep ranges or exercises)</p>
<p>- Maintenance: 4-8 weeks is good to give your body and your mind a break from pushing hard at either goals (muscle building or fat loss) during the year.</p>
<p>- Strength phase: 4 weeks is the minimum I would spend working on strength throughout the year</p>
<p>- Fat loss phase: 12 weeks depending on how much fat you have to lose, but generally, to lose a substantial amount of fat (8% or higher) will take at least 12 weeks.</p>
<p><strong>Measuring Results</strong></p>
<p>Aside from all the training tips in the world and conflicting opinions, the only thing that matter is the results you get. It doesn’t matter what program you are using so long as it is working and is effective at keeping you satisfied with your progress.</p>
<p>Being dedicated to a program will get you far better results (provided the program does get you results) in the long run instead of switching to the latest trend program.</p>
<p>Also, even though it’s a very competitive world, you should only be measuring results against your own results. Don’t compare to Joe blow form down the street or the latest steroid abuser in the gym.</p>
<p>Everyone is different and even when using the same training program and doing everything the same, two people can still have very different results on a program. That’s just the technique it is.</p>
<p>You will feel a lot better about yourself when you only compete against yourself. Trust me, this one tip can help you <a target="_blank" href="http://www.joeyvaillancourtfitness.com/">build muscle mass quick</a> because you will not get frustrated and you will be committed for a longer time to achieving the goals you set. Comparing vs. other more genetically gifted people can be very frustrating and can lead you to perhaps even quitting</p>

<p>I know you think that you have to lift heavy weights, train hard, eat like the bodybuilder and recover to build muscle right? Well, you are right!</p>
<p>But, there is more to this than what meets the eye. You see the biggest determining factor of the great physique isn’t necessarily related to a specific program or even superior genetics.</p>
<p>Yes of course both of those factors can attribute to great muscle building results but an even bigger influence is a person’s mental strength.</p>
<p>More often than not the people who possess the greatest physiques in the industry are not always successful in the gym but are also successful in every aspect of their life. Every new challenge they present themselves with, they conquer.</p>
<p>You see, first you have to believe in yourself second you have to have a strong passion and toured you have to have a no quit type of attitude.</p>
<p>Possessing this type of mental strength will definitely be the fastest way to build muscle.</p>
<p><strong>It’s a Long Road Ahead</strong></p>
<p>Now, I am all for quick fixes just like the next person but you should know that building a great physique does not happen overnight let alone within a couple months or even a year. Yes you can and see great results within those timeframes but that really impressive physiques simply develop over time.</p>
<p>Weight training and nutrition and everything else will aid of the bodybuilding isn’t just a hobby but rather a lifestyle.</p>
<p>You don’t want to just build muscle for a couple months and then quit because it is just too hard to maintain or you are simply not satisfied with the results.</p>
<p>Don’t get me wrong, as I do encourage you to aim high in your goals and push even harder at accomplishing those goals but always be realistic, be patient and know that in time you too will develop a great physique that you can be proud of.</p>
<p><strong>It’s More Than Muscle</strong></p>
<p>Everybody wants to build muscle for one reason or another. Generally speaking guys wanna build muscle to get a specific girl or perhaps because they have been made fun of in the past by bigger or more muscular guys.</p>
<p>But it is much more than just building muscle. You see for me building muscle was the catalyst to achieving even bigger goals within the other areas of my life. Before I began bodybuilding and weight training I’d do not believe that a skinny guy such as myself could ever build muscle let alone when the fitness competition but since proving both those theories wrong my mind has been a opened to many other possibilities that I never thought possible.</p>
<p>I like to look at muscle building and the fitness lifestyle as a personal test that you can use to develop strong character and the right mindset in your life.</p>
<p>Now I know that you might be thinking this has nothing to do with muscle building that you would be wrong. Believing in yourself by setting a goal and accomplishing a goal will lead to bigger goals and an even more impressive physique. Once you reach what you never thought possible you will suddenly open your eyes to a new possibility that you would have never seen had you not had accomplished your last goal. If</p>
<p><strong>Picking The Right Role Model</strong></p>
<p>I still remember looking to bodybuilding magazines and wondering how the heck those guys got so big and for the longest time I was lead to believe that those guys possess that physique because they simply train hard and knew something I didn’t.</p>
<p>Yes I am in no doubt that they do educate firm but the reality of the matter is and the bottom line is that most people in the bodybuilding magazines if are juiced up on steroids or illegal substances that allows them to train beyond their genetic potential and develop their massive physiques.</p>
<p>I personally do not recommend using legal substances to get big while sacrificing your health. I would myself wish being a tad lesser but stain usual. Now that is my choice a nightly the choice of two you bet rest it you’ll make the right decision.</p>
<p>Either way whenever you pick a role model be sure that a role model in body’s weight you would like to one day be. If he is on steroids and you are not then do not expect to reach his physique a level but the same time do not be disappointed.</p>
<p>A great physique can be built naturally but the same time you will not end up looking like a juiced up a bodybuilder.</p>
<p>If always pick a role model who has done what you want to accomplish in the manner that you want to do it.</p>

<p>The shoulders are a very important part of any physique. They give a person a more muscular and powerful look. They also make a person appear wider and broader which can intimidate others. Many of the top bodybuilders and fitness athletes have to work extremely hard to develop full, proportional shoulder development to showcase on stage. But it is just as important to have nice full shoulders to fill out a shirt or to show off on the beach.</p>
<p>In this article, I want to introduce you to some isolation <a target="_blank" href="http://www.joeyvaillancourtfitness.com/">exercises to build muscle</a> in your shoulder heads.</p>
<p>The shoulders are made up of three heads which all need to be addressed and trained equally. The heads are the front deltoid, side deltoid and rear deltoid. You will be at your strongest when working the front deltoid, slightly weaker when working side deltoids and your weakest head is your rear deltoid.</p>
<p>I always focus on hitting rear deltoids first so that they get more prioritized attention early in the workout. By doing this, you can expect to see dramatic improvements in your total shoulder development as most people neglect the rear deltoids the most.</p>
<p>After performing compound movements such as the military press, dumbbell shoulder press and other variations of those exercises, then you can move on to isolation exercises to really target the heads individually.</p>
<p>These <a target="_blank" href="http://www.joeyvaillancourtfitness.com/">exercises to build muscle</a> should be completed as they are listed in this order to give attention to the weakest all the way to the strongest.</p>
<p><strong>Rear Dumbell Raises:</strong></p>
<p>While seated on a bench, grab a light set of dumbbells for this exercise. Once seated, bend over at the waist until your body is at about a 45 degree angle to the floor. Then, with a fixed arm position, raise the dumbbells to the sides only until they are parallel to your head. Slightly pause, then return the dumbbells back down slowly and under control.</p>
<p>Keeping your arms fixed and refraining momentum will surely help to isolate the rear delts. At the top of the movement, make sure to pause and contract forcefully.</p>
<p><strong>Side Dumbbell Raises:</strong></p>
<p>While standing with slightly bent knees, and a dumbbell in each hand, use your shoulders to raise the dumbbells from your hips to just parallel to shoulder level. Then pause and contract and slowly lower the weights back to the starting position.</p>
<p>Do not bend back excessively as this will take the tension off of the shoulder muscles you are trying to target. The use of a controlled tempo should be used in weights.</p>
<p><strong>Front Barbell Raises:</strong></p>
<p>For the front deltoids, we will use a variation of a front raise using a barbell. Using a barbell will allow you to go heavier and really hit the front delts.</p>

Simply grab a barbell and position your hands shoulder width apart. Then with arms fully extended, raise the barbell until it aligns with your head position.
